"Self-cleaning" is not a new concept in industrial filtration, but many self-cleaning filters on the market either fail to backwash thoroughly, causing the screen to clog progressively, or their cleaning mechanisms frequently jam, requiring frequent manual intervention-essentially no better than ordinary manual filters. Our Self-cleaning Filter was developed from the start with the goal of "truly no manual cleaning." Its core innovation is the suction scanner-a set of slotted suction nozzles that move in a helical reciprocating motion along the inner surface of the screen. When the drain valve opens, the differential pressure generates high-velocity jets through the nozzles that forcefully suction and extract the contaminants attached to the screen, rather than simply flushing with flow. This active suction cleaning is several times more efficient than traditional backwashing, restoring screen permeability to over 95% after a single cleaning, with no dead zones. We ran a one-month test on our bench using turbid circulating water with 200ppm sand content, with automatic cleaning twice a day. After one month, we disassembled and inspected the screen; the surface deposit thickness was less than 0.1mm-almost negligible. In comparison, a conventional backwash filter tested under the same conditions showed significant yellowing and partial mesh blockage. We recorded this comparison on video and show it to visitors during plant tours.


Moreover, we have incorporated dual safety guarantees into the Self-cleaning Filter. The cleaning actuator is driven by a motor plus a manual handwheel override-if the motor fails or there is a power outage, the operator can rotate the handwheel to manually complete the suction scanning, ensuring the system does not shut down due to the filter. The control system is equipped with both a differential pressure sensor and an accumulated runtime dual-trigger logic; either condition will initiate the cleaning program automatically, and during cleaning the inlet and outlet valves remain open, maintaining full flow filtration. The housing uses a bottom-in, side-out flow design, so large particles first settle into the bottom discharge chamber rather than directly impacting the screen, effectively extending the cleaning interval. We installed one Self-cleaning Filter in a paper mill's white water recovery system. The paper machine ran 24/7, and the filter automatically cleaned four times a day, operating fault-free for 18 consecutive months. The mill's equipment manager said, "This is the only filter we have ever used that truly requires no human attention." This comment makes us extremely proud, because it means we fully achieved our original design goal-freeing human hands from repetitive cleaning work.

For high-precision automated equipment like the Self-cleaning Filter, our packaging standards are higher than for ordinary products. The main unit is fixed on a steel frame inside a heavy-duty wooden crate base, wrapped in waterproof PE film; the suction assembly is separately wrapped with shockproof material, and the control cabinet is packed in a cardboard box for moisture protection. All flange openings are sealed with stainless steel blind plates to prevent moisture or dust ingress during transit. The outside of the crate is marked with "This Side Up," "Keep Dry," "Fragile," and other labels for proper handling by freight forwarders and unloading crews. We prefer FOB Wenzhou Port and EXW terms, providing detailed packing lists and estimated arrival dates 3 days before shipment. If you need transport insurance, we can assist in arranging it but at your cost. Payment Terms
The self-cleaning filter is one of our higher-unit-price product lines, so we offer some flexibility in payment terms. For standard models, 30% deposit and 70% before shipment; for large-flow custom models, 50% deposit and 50% before shipment. USD and RMB accepted. For bulk orders of 3 or more units, we offer a 3%-6% volume discount on the total order value, negotiated case-by-case based on quantity and configuration complexity. For long-term cooperative clients, within their credit limit, we can offer payment terms of full payment within 15 days after each shipment, subject to a separate credit agreement.
FAQ
Q: Is the power consumption of the selfcleaning filter high?
A: Very low. The motor runs only during cleaning, each cycle about 30 seconds, with frequency depending on water quality. For example, a 100m³/h model consumes less than 0.02 kWh per cleaning, and standby power consumption is zero. Compared to the labor cost saved, the electricity cost is negligible.
Q: Will the screen wear out over time, and is replacement costly?
A: The wedgewire screen is made of 316L stainless steel and is highly resistant to erosion. Under normal water quality, service life is 35 years. When replacement is needed, only the screen assembly is changed; the housing remains in use. The replacement cost is about 15%20% of the new unit price, far less than buying a new machine.
Q: Is the control system parameter setting complicated? Can ordinary personnel operate it?
A: We preset all control values at the factory based on the operating parameters you provide. Onsite, just connect power and water, press start, and it runs. Routine operation only requires checking the status on the touchscreen-no parameter changes are needed. If future process changes require adjustments, we provide detailed manuals and can also support remotely via video.
Q: What is the warranty period for this equipment?
A: Full unit warranty is 12 months, including motor, gearbox, PLC, sensors, and housing; the screen is a consumable and is not covered. However, if the screen cannot be installed or used properly due to housing deformation or screen frame manufacturing defects, we will replace it free of charge. Aftersales response time is within 24 hours, and for major issues, we will arrive on site within 72 hours.
